New stores continue to open doors in Apple Valley. The latest is Ross Dress for Less at the Apple Valley Commons, opening on Friday, October 9. As the nation’s second-largest off-price retailer, the discount pricing is a welcome addition for budget-conscious shoppers.
The brand new store is one of about 50 that Ross will open this year nationwide and brings with it 40 jobs.
Ross joins Super Target and Lowe’s at the 733,000 square foot shopping center developed and managed by Lewis Retail Centers. Apple Valley Commons is the second largest retail center in Apple Valley and also includes the recently opened Radio Shack, Union Bank, Verizon Wireless, Parkway Dental, Round Table Pizza, and a number of other retail, service and eating establishments. Dr. Mike’s Walk-In Clinic will open by the end of the year, and a 10,000 square foot Dollar Tree will open in January.
Visitors to the Apple Valley Commons Ross store between October 10 and 18 can enter to win a $500 shopping spree giveaway, with five second prize shopping sprees of $100 each.
Ross is the latest addition to the still-expanding market in Apple Valley. Three million square feet of retail opened over the last four years, meeting the shopping needs of residents and stemming the flow of sales tax dollars to neighboring communities.
“We’re very excited about new jobs and a new reason to keep sales tax dollars local,” said Mayor Rick Roelle.
